History and Background of this Gift Box

The tea ceremony “Sadou” is a representative way of showing people hospitality “Spirit of Omotenashi” in Japan. Generally, the ceremony host makes the tea for his visitors. Drinking the tea shows respect and blessings for a long-running relationship with each other. In the Azuchimomoyama era(1568~1600)the most famous tea ceremony host Sen no Rikyu brought the tea ceremony culture and it spread in the Kamakura era(1180~1336). I have made this box for people who want to experience and look back at Japanese Tea history. Enjoy drinking by yourself or serving your important person. The cloth could be used as a tea mat, wrapping bag and decoration for your personal space.
