History and Background of this Gift Box

The most traditional teapot “Kyusu” is an item for boiling water and is sometimes used to make hot alcohol “Sake”. Back in the old days, the general way of drinking tea was to boil up the leaves first. Kyusu was born because it is convenient and makes the process faster. In the middle of the Edo era (1738), a farmer in Uji, Nagatani Soen, spent 15 years improving the tea-making method and invented "Sencha" (green tea). This new method eliminated the need to boil tea leaves, allowing people to simply brew tea by pouring hot water over the leaves. This led to the evolution of the Kyusu teapot into its current form. Currently, tea bags and pet bottles are popular but using a Kyusu provides a good smell, taste and of course a beautiful green color. Enjoy this box with your family or partner in your daily life.
