Tea

Green tea existed from the Kamakura era (1192-1335). Japanese tea history starts from Myoue(明恵上人) who brought the tea culture in Japan. He first made a tea garden and started to provide powder type teas called “Matcha”. After the moving generation, Matcha has evolved to “Sencha” made in the Edo era(1542-1616). Nowadays tea is drunk in daily life and on special occasions. Also, tea ceremony is one of the events to enjoy drinking tea in a traditional way.
