History and Background of this Gift Box

Japanese Tea was founded 1,200 years ago. The tea consumption once declined but history shows that one of the tea trends emerged in the Kamakura era(1180-1336). Myoue Shounin was the first person to make a tea garden in Kyoto. At this time, people were making tea by grinding and mixing leaves which have a similarity to making matcha powder. They were generally drunk for health purposes by the rich class. They were not yet widely known as an expensive drink. The coming era of Edo(1600-1868), tea started to spread to the people as a little treat. At this time, brown teas were more common. Japanese people have arranged and developed many teas like roasted green tea, brown rice tea and Japanese black tea. I have selected the most popular and rare items for this box. Try it yourself or share with your friends.
